One Woman's Love for the Wild: The Wild Axis Story
The journey behind Wild Axis Safaris...
It started with a simple belief: that Kenya's wild places deserve to be shared with care, not just visited. Four years ago, Evalyn Mutuku set out to build something different in Nairobi's crowded safari industry, a company rooted not in ticking off destinations, but in genuine connection to the land, the wildlife, and the people who call Kenya home.
Having grown up captivated by the rhythms of the bush, Evalyn saw too many travelers moving through Kenya at a distance ,ushered from vehicle to lodge to viewpoint, without ever really arriving. She wanted to change that. So she built Wild Axis Safaris around a different question: not "what can we show you?" but "what can we help you feel?"
What began as one woman's determination has grown into a small, close-knit team of guides and planners who share her belief that the best safaris aren't rushed, they're felt. Every itinerary we design, whether it's tracking rhinos across Ol Pejeta, watching elephant herds move through Amboseli at first light, or standing in the quiet shadow of Mount Kenya, carries that same founding spirit.

Our Purpose
Our Mission
Our mission is to craft safari experiences that go beyond sightseeing. We design each journey around real connection — to Kenya's landscapes, its wildlife, and the communities who protect them — so that every traveler leaves not just with photographs, but with a genuine understanding of the place they've visited.
We believe a safari should be personal, not procedural.
That means smaller groups where possible, itineraries built around what excites you, and guides who know the land well enough to read it,spotting what a rushed tour would miss entirely. From your first inquiry to your final night under the Kenyan sky, our mission is to make sure your trip feels like it was built for you, because it was.
Our Future
Our Vision
We envision a future where Wild Axis Safaris is the name travelers trust first when they think of authentic Kenyan adventure — not because we're the biggest, but because we're the most genuine. A company known as much for its integrity as for its itineraries.
We also see our growth as tied directly to the health of the places we operate in. As we expand across Kenya's destinations, we're committed to doing so in a way that supports conservation efforts and the local communities who share their home with the wildlife we showcase ,so that the Kenya we introduce to travelers today is still thriving for the ones who visit tomorrow.
Our Principles
What We Stand For
Authenticity — We design real journeys, not packaged tours. Every itinerary reflects genuine knowledge of the terrain, the wildlife, and the season, not a template repeated for every traveler.
Conservation — The wild places we showcase, from Ol Pejeta's conservancies to the ecosystems around Mount Kenya, aren't a backdrop for us — they're worth protecting. We build our tours with that responsibility in mind.
Care — From your first conversation with our team to your final day on safari, we pay attention to the details that make a trip feel personal rather than processed.
Connection — We believe travel should change how you see the world. Every safari we plan aims to leave you with more than memories — a real understanding of the place and people you encountered.
